Abstract:
Album of 129 black and white photographs documenting an American Geographical Society expedition to the Colombian Sierra Nevada
de Santa Marta mountains in March 1939. The purpose of the expedition was to make a topographical map of the area. Photographs
are briefly captioned in English and feature scenic views along the ascent, the town of Valle Dupar, the mission of San Sebastian,
and native peoples. Also includes some aerial photographs.
